Alright, I recently decided to take a break from some of the FPS games on my laptop and returned to my favorite childhood games on my old abandoned Wii U. The first epic Mickey game held up pretty well, but good god, what was that second one?
I don't mind voice acting, but seriously, the NPC voice acting was just annoying. Also, removing the dark tone of the first game was a huge mistake. Part of the reason as to why I love the first game so much was the dark tone. The second game wasn't really bright and happy, but it felt like it was less of a dark and twisted world, more of a disaster zone. In terms of world building, it just felt... no.
Also, the first game allowed you to go back through the game and take the thinner routes after beating it, but with this one, it's all about exploring the same locations all over again, and once I've beaten the game, I think beating it again seems more appealing than exploring the same locations over and over again, solely on the basis of finding pins.
Also, the game gives no sense of world building like the first game. Going from Bog easy to a dark alley, to train tunnels (that don't even have a train lmao) to an old abandoned fort and finally a junkyard. Sorry for the rant, but dude, the first game had a kind of uniform for different levels.
When I was younger, EM2 was kind of a 50/50 for me. Some was good, some was bad, but at least there were the occasional positives. This time around, it was god awful. Sorry to rant, but I'm a technology addicted 18 year old guy who's got a lot of free time. Also, I used to talk on this place all the time years ago on a different account and I felt like checking the place out again.
