Notice: This article contains spoilers. Read at your own risk.

This article is about the bad endings in the two main Epic Mickey games. For the endings and choices considered to be fully canon, please see Canon Path.

The Bad Ending (or Thinner Ending) refers to the final cutscene in Epic Mickey or Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two when Mickey makes the morally wrong choices in certain important quests, such as boss fights. It is possible to have a mix of "good" ending scenes and "bad" ending scenes depending on how the quests were completed, but the bad ending is when all of the bad scenes appear with no good scenes.

Epic Mickey[]

NOTE: The events of Epic Mickey 2 confirm that this ending is partially non-canon to the story, and therefore some of the events mentioned below did not occur.

The bad scenes are as follows:

  • If the Clock Tower is defeated using Thinner during the first boss fight, he will be dismantled in a Thinner pool and is still in his twisted state.
  • If Animatronic Captain Hook walks the plank or is destroyed by being smacked against the floor or pillars of the Jolly Roger during his boss fight, his hook will be seen bobbing up and down on the sea before finally sinking.
  • If Petetronic is defeated using Thinner during his boss fight, a digital image of Petetronic appears on a screen in Tomorrow City which scares away some Gremlins.
  • If Mickey does not help Big Bad Pete with all of his sidequests, Pete will be seen scaring citizens of Mean Street away.
  • If Mickey does not complete all of Horace's quests, Horace will be seen closing down his agency.
  • If Mickey fails to retrieve all of Animatronic Daisy's parts, she will be shaken and harassed in her glass case by a pirate.
  • If Mickey fails to retrieve all of Animatronic Goofy's parts, he is left looking rather sorrowful in his glass case.
  • If Mickey fails to retrieve all of Animatronic Donald's parts, he is seen stuck in his glass case being chewed on by a Spatter.

Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two[]

  • The animatronic Mad Doctor tries to grab Mickey and Oswald. However, Mickey and Oswald defeat the Mad Doctor by destroying his machines using Thinner. The Mad Doctor falls into the Thinner pool and is left by Mickey and Oswald. (for using Thinner during the final battle of the final boss).
  • Remained pieces of the Blotworx Dragon are carried by the denizens of Wasteland for the parade. (for defeating the Blotworx Dragon by using Thinner on Spatters controlling it or crashing the ceiling onto the Dragon whether or not Mickey used the secret Projector Screen in Disney Gulch)
  • Clarabelle throws a piece of popcorn while Horace sighs sadly. (for not getting Horace to let Clarabelle be his assistant, for getting him to let Barnacle Jones be his assistant, or for thinning Scurvy Pat and telling Horace)
  • Prescott's Mech starts to destroy the part of a building as it follows the Blotworx Dragon's parts. (for either filling the pump on the cannon with Thinner and destroying the Mech by thinning its armor and destroying it or taking the secret Projector Screen in the Floatyard)
  • Animatronic Donald tries to give Animatronic Daisy some flowers, but she rejects them. (for not fixing Donald's tugboat, for giving Gremlin Sparks the fake gear from Ghost Gilbert).
  • Petetronic joins Small Pete and Pete Pan for Big Bad Pete's plan after the credits roll. (for not helping him in Blot Alley or defeating only 2 of the 3 Blotworx).

Trivia[]

Epic Mickey[]

  • In this end cutscene, Yen Sid says that Wasteland doesn't need him anymore, but ironically, the denizens do need him.
  • It is presumed that the Spatter gnawing on Donald's case is the same one that had the voodoo doll, since both Spatters have green eyes (although the voodoo one has red eyes in the 2D cutscene), have fun harassing Donald, and Mickey doesn't encounter the voodoo Spatter if he doesn't repair Donald.
  • As Yen Sid says things, it goes along with the events. ("Struggles we faced or avoided" during Small Pete, referring to the ship log) ("How well we manage time" during Clocktower, referring to saving or killing it) ("Enemies defeated or redeemed" during Captain Hook, and Pete Pan, referring to saving or destroying Hook) ("The ways in which we treat others" during Big Bad Pete and Peteronic , referring to his side missions and Redeeming Peteronic) ("and perhaps most important friendships nurtured or neglected" during Horace, Animatronic Goofy, Animatronic Daisy, and Animatronic Donald, referring to putting the anmatronics back together and solving cases for Horace or ignoring them)
  • Yen Sid said Wasteland was restored by good choices, but actually in this ending, the choices were unwise.

Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two[]

  • In Epic Mickey 2, if the Mad Doctor is killed, Yen Sid says that Mickey and Oswald managed to save Wasteland, despite making some missteps on the way.
  • In all bosses of Epic Mickey 2, the end result of two bosses is determined only by whether the player uses paint or thinner in the last part of the battle. For the Blotworx Dragon, thinning the spatter in the last part despite using paint in the beginning will trigger the thinner ending of the battle, and also vice versa with paint. The same can be seen with the Mad Doctor boss too, with the second part of painting or thinning the masks.
    • For Prescott's Mech, however, the Thinner ending can be achieved through using either Paint and Thinner in the beginning. To get the Paint ending, the player must use only Paint throughout the boss.
